WOMEN INSPIRING WOMEN 2021

Create.

Take Risks.

Live your Passion.

If you’ve been following the Inspire + Move brand for a while, you know that I am super passionate about creating community, celebrating other women in business and connecting great people to do great things.

So after some deeper personal development work last summer and celebrating some new incredible opportunities that came up in my life, I wanted to create something NEW for other like-minded women….. something that was dedicated to connection and collaboration.

While navigating a global pandemic that brought on endless uncertainty, challenges and isolation, many of us were missing that precious in person time with high vibe individuals that vibrate at a similar frequency. I personally am a massive energy person and I just love being around people that operate at high energy levels as well - it’s contagious!

When I started to brainstorm this event I wanted to create I had a few core values that I wanted to ensure I achieve:

Support local (small) businesses

Collaboration over competition

Contribute to a good cause

Celebrate + connect strong women

The event took place at my home, in the backyard - a setting that I truly love hosting events at.

I pitched my event idea to a few female owned businesses first to see if there was interest in working together and was overjoyed when I received such positive (quick!) responses to join me for the event.

As this was the first event (and still in a pandemic…) we kept the evening intimate, which was just perfect. Guests enjoyed wines from Westcott Vineyards in Jordan, ON, which happens to be a personal favourite in our house, and grazed on beautiful charcuterie boards prepared by the Social Platter.

The setting was beautiful and cozy for a crisp late September evening with soft pastel decor by New Air Social and Special Event Rentals and the stunning floral pieces were created by Wheat Queens, which look exquisite amongst the neutral attire all the boss babe beauties were dressed in.
While guests mingled and connected, they were also treated to whimsical fashion sketches by the talented Nessa Lilly and the magic of the evening was captured by Brooke Padyani.

A party isn’t a party without take away treats, am I right? Guests enjoyed delightful sugar cookies from Sugar and Stuff and a copy of one of my all-time favourite books, A Tribe Called Bliss by mega community creator, Lori Harder.

I’ve realized that connecting great people together, women especially, truly brings me so much JOY.

It was days after the event when I was getting messages and DMs from guests letting me know that they booked one of the other guests for a job or are discussing a collaboration together - talk about fulfillment!
I think it's so easy to forget how powerful community, connection and collaboration are, whether it be for business but also for our souls.

We are in the driver’s seat of our lives and writing our stories - I think its so important to spend your precious time around incredible people that see your vision, support your goals and celebrate your wins!

Needless to say….
